Meet our Marketing Manager: Ally Padua

From the sandy beaches of Boracay Island to the sunny town of San Luis Obispo, Calif., Ally Padua traveled half-way around the world to work for Villaggio. Hospitality runs in her veins. As the previous Sales and Marketing and Room Division Manager for the boutique luxury hotel, Monaco Suites de Boracay located in the Philippines, Ally managed a staff of 60 overseeing the day-to-day operations. Under her management and marketing, the hotel was one of the top-rated luxury properties in the Philippines as voted by Trip Advisor.

Soon after, Villaggio at San Luis Obispo was creating its sales and marketing team. “When I heard about Villaggio and all that they would offer residents, I knew it was the place for me,” she said. “This all-encompassing community was redefining and reimagining what senior living communities could be, and that really excited me. I loved the idea of working with a team and building this community from the beginning.”

Recently promoted to Marketing Manager, Ally provides management and coordination for Villaggio’s marketing efforts and communications, while lending support to the sales team. She had been Villaggio’s Information Center Manager since it opened in 2017.

“My job doesn’t feel like selling. I get to have a conversation with someone about the community and find out what living situation is best for them. Hearing their stories is wonderful and I make sure residents know we are available to answer any questions and listen to concerns they may have. Our members have become friends of the Villaggio team and are very supportive of the marketing efforts for the community.”

Ally didn’t always know she would work in marketing. When she graduated from San Diego State University, she had the ambition to become a lawyer.

Her life took an unexpected turn when she had the opportunity to study abroad, once at Oxford University and then in Sydney, Australia, which ignited her curiosity to see the world. After graduation, she decided to teach English abroad and move to South Korea with her best friend, which led to a career in hospitality where she fell in love with creating positive memories for travelers and residents.

Villaggio has allowed her to continue that passion through project development and its unique approach to hospitality.

“You have to love what you do. I enjoy coming to work because I truly like the team who I work with and working together towards creating the fabulous Villaggio at San Luis Obispo. Our community has a great purpose and will serve so many people. We put a lot of heart into what we do.”

With her family nearby and a new baby girl in their home, Ally and her husband are loving their life in SLO. They enjoy frequent trips to the beach and take advantage of the great weather by spending much of their time in the area’s great outdoors.
